Emails and your own sending domain
1 min read
What is sent
The assistant can send confirmations and reminders by email. You edit the content under Settings → Email.
Why your own sending domain
Without setup the email comes from one of our addresses. It works — but it does not look like it comes from you, and it more often ends up in spam.
If you set up your own domain, the email comes from you, and the recipient's mail server can see that it is genuine.
How to do it
- Go to Settings → Email and find the sending domain.
- Enter the domain you want to send from.
- Create the DNS records we show you (SPF and DKIM) with whoever manages your domain.
- Press verify.
It usually takes a couple of minutes, but DNS can take up to a day. Verify again later if it does not go through the first time.
If you use Cloudflare
Add the records as ordinary DNS records. They should not be proxied — but that only applies to web records (A/CNAME), so the SPF and DKIM records, which are TXT records, can simply be created.
