Booking rules: notice, window and deadlines
1 min read
The four rules
Under Settings → Calendar and booking you set the limits for what the assistant may put in the calendar. Leave a field empty if you do not have a rule.
Notice
The minimum time there must be before the appointment.
Without a rule the assistant can book 09:59 for 10:00 — and you find out when the customer is at the door.
Window
How far into the future an appointment can be placed. A dentist schedules a year ahead; a hairdresser rarely wants more than four weeks.
Buffer
Time between two appointments, so you can tidy up, write notes or catch your breath.
Cancellation deadline
How late a customer may cancel on their own. After the deadline the assistant refers them to calling you.
Try the rules out
Call your own number and ask for an appointment in ten minutes. The assistant should refuse if your notice is set to one hour. It is the fastest way to see that the rules are set correctly.
